YSR USA Tarmac Rally Coilover Suspension System

Engineered for precision and durability, the YSR USA Tarmac Rally Coilover Suspension System is purpose-built for high-performance driving on closed-course tarmac rally events, hill climbs, and competitive asphalt rally stages. Designed to handle the extreme demands of high-speed cornering, rapid weight transfer, and aggressive braking zones, this system offers maximum grip and control on paved rally surfaces.

Unlike traditional street or track setups, the Tarmac Rally kit features revised damping characteristics, specialized spring rates, and reinforced components to withstand the unique punishment of rally racing. This system is fine-tuned for quick directional changes, similar to stock ride heights for uneven surfaces, and optimized shock valving for mixed grip scenarios.

    • 2-WAY EXTERNAL RESERVOIR
      The 2-way Advanced Pro Plus Racing Tarmac Rally Spec suspension system features an external reservoir, allowing you to adjust the rebound and compression damping separately. The canister comes with either a stainless braided hose or piggyback style reservoir depending on application.

    • 3-WAY EXTERNAL RESERVOIR
      The 3-way Advanced Pro Plus Racing Tarmac Rally Spec suspension system offers independent low-speed and high-speed compression damping adjustments. It features 17 clicks of high-speed compression, 20 clicks of low-speed compression and 33 clicks of rebound damping adjustment. Drivers are able to fine tune the suspension to their desired damping rates for different road conditions and preferred suspension response. The canister comes with either a stainless braided hose or piggyback style reservoir depending on application.

      With an external reservoir, this system provides extra oil capacity to dissipate heat more efficiently, which allows you to operate this product for long periods of time and improves performance & handling due to more stable variations in damping rates. The canister body is made of high grade steel or alloy aluminum material (depending on application) which can resist high gas pressures. The bottom of the canister is made of 7075 aircraft quality alloy, and is processed with an anodized surface treatment to prevent corrosion in the harsh conditions of motorsports.

Pros:

  • Superior Control on Mixed Tarmac
    Tuned for patchy, uneven, or aggressive paved surfaces common in rally stages.

  • Greater Durability Under Load
    Built to handle harsh compressions, quick transitions, and surface irregularities.

  • Ride Height (Compared to Track Kits)
    Provides similar to stock height on most applications which improves clearance while maintaining tight chassis control.
  • Modular Adjustability
    Also available as 2-way or 3-way configurations for advanced damping control on some applications.

Cons:

  • Not Ideal for Daily Driving
    Increased NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) due to solid mounts and aggressive damping.

  • Stiffer Low-Speed Ride
    May feel overly firm or jittery on smooth city streets or highways.

  • Limited Off-Road Capability
    While optimized for imperfect tarmac, it is not designed for loose surfaces like gravel or dirt.

  • Requires Professional Setup
    Optimal performance depends on proper ride height, preload, and damping tuning—installation by experienced technicians is recommended.

The pros and cons of these upper mounts are as listed below:

Offset M3 Front Upper Mounts:

  1. Pro: Caster will be very similar to stock angle. 
  2. Con: To adjust camber, removal of the coilover assembly from the vehicle is required.

Offset M3 Upper Mounts
Standard Design M3 Front Upper Mounts:

  1. Pro: Customer can adjust camber without removing the coilover.
  2. Con: Caster will not be similar to stock angle.
